BETTY RIVERA

Vocal Coach

Betty Rivera has been singing locally and nationally for over 25 years. She has sung with the six-time Grammy Award-winning Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir and on television shows like Good Morning America and the Today Show, and has also sung on the Spirit of New York Cruises. She has also performed as a background vocalist for various recording artists and choirs in live and studio recordings.  Betty obtained a bachelor’s degree in Music (Voice Concentration) from Nyack College, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Baruch College, which later helped her start her own business teaching voice lessons.

Betty worked as a music teacher at a junior high school in New York City for a short while, but then later pursued her passion teaching voice lessons and vocal worrkshops to children and adults of all levels. She also has extensive experience as a worship leader and has directed choirs, ensembles and worship teams. Whether it’s Musical Theatre, Pop, Contemporary Christian, Jazz, Gospel or R&B, Betty loves to incorporate effective vocal techniques that can be implemented in various styles of music.

Through her use of creative and innovative vocal techniques, Betty has taught over 200 students according to their individual goals and abilities for over a decade.  Her passion is to teach and equip singers who have a hunger to learn—so they can grow to sing with confidence and freedom!
